Inspired by MetroCard: A New Art Exhibition at Grand Central
About The Show
I'm thrilled to have co-curated artworks of artist Carlos Pinto at the New York Transit Museum's Grand Central Gallery & Store.
This exhibition celebrates the now-retired MetroCard as an artistic medium and design object.
The video on my Instagram offers a glimpse inside the exhibition, showcasing the gallery space at Grand Central where MetroCard-inspired artworks are on display.
The Art
Discover artworks, fashion pieces, sculptures, collages, and limited-edition art all born from New York's most iconic fare card.
It's a unique way to look at everyday objects differently and appreciate how a simple card became a canvas for the city.

Come See
This exhibition transforms a familiar piece of New York life into something worth examining closely. The MetroCard, once just a way to pay your fare, becomes a medium for artistic expression through the works of Carlos Pinto.
For those who appreciate art and the pleasures of discovery, this free exhibition offers a chance to see creativity emerge from the everyday.
Come by, look closely, and see how a simple card became a canvas for the city.
Artfully,
Gene Seidman
